Vejer de la Frontera due to its huge cultural heritage becomes one of the most beautiful villages in Spain. It was named Artistic-Historical Monument in 1976 and in 1978 it won the I National Price for the beautification of Villages and was given the distinction of Zone of Great Influx of Tourists in 1996-2000/2000-2004.

Second day: Coast fenders: towers and lighthouses. From the Battle of la Janda to Trafalgar’s.

In 711 the battle of La Janda took place, in which North African troops under Tarik´s command defeated Don Rodrigo. Onwards and during five centuries and a half, Véjer remained under Muslim domain and gave birth to an splendid Arab-Islamic culture that has still many traces to be seen like the castle’s main door  (11th century), its city walls and its streets’ framework.

Route by bus around the main defensive towers in the coast: The Tower of Guzmán the Good, Roche’s Lighthouse, Castilnovo Tower and Trafalgar’s Lighthouse.

Lunch in Zahara.

Transfer to La Muela to visit the "Centro de Interpretación de los Molinos de agua" and the aqueducts, some of them built by the Roman empire.

Third day: Visiting Cádiz.

Cádiz was founded around the year 1100 B.C. when Phoenicians arrived at its bay after their expansion on the Mediterranean Sea. Both its geographical location and the most singular aspects of its founder’s culture will mark the history of the city until today: GADIR, whose meaning is “enclosed place” , will become the point of departure for both the Mediterranean and the Atlantic business routes.

Transportation in minibus to Cádiz. Guided route around the city.

Lunch in Cádiz.

Visit to a typical wine cellar and wine-tasting.

Dinner at client’s expense with some recommendations (restaurants’ specialities, pubs, tapas…).

Fourth Day: Baelo Claudia.

Baelo Claudia was founded in the second half of the 2nd century BC. Its origin and subsequent development are linked to commerce with North-Africa being the linking port to today’s Tánger. It also functioned as administrative point. However, its main wealth came from the fish salting industry and the derived sauces (garum).
